Awake in Olaiya

Awake in her unit room while everyone else sleeps,  Nat realizes she has no memory of her past and no knowledge of why she lives in Olaiya. Nestled in the depths of Territorial California, Olaiya is clean, organized, and well-run, but Nat's haunting nightmares make her wonder if there are evils here that she's forgotten. It's only a matter of time before the danger becomes real. People can get hauled away for the slightest offense, and if they're brought back at all, it's clear they aren't okay. 

As her awareness grows, she must constantly feign ignorance to evade the watchful eyes of the guards. The more awake she feels, the harder it becomes to blend in as she goes about her daily life. As she tries to find her bearings, she begins to look for other people who can recall more than one day.

In her quest for answers, Nat is brought into an under-the-radar group: the Rebs. But even the Rebs leaders seem hesitant to divulge information that would help her figure out who she is. Meanwhile, the oppressive Olaiya Masters are trying to figure out who is awake in Olaiya. Nat fears that her choice to remember more than the present is going to put the people she cares about in danger and may end up costing her everything.
